NEMTAC® is the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)–accredited Standards Developer for the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) industry.
As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) healthcare organization, NEMTAC® develops consensus-based national standards, accreditation frameworks, and education programs that support safe, reliable, and accountable NEMT services.
This work aligns with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) priorities for safe, accessible, and dependable transportation to healthcare.
As a neutral, third-party organization accredited by ANSI, NEMTAC® develops consensus-based industry standards through open, balanced, and transparent processes.
Accreditation demonstrates organizational conformance with nationally recognized NEMT standards and signals a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
NEMTAC® education programs translate standards into practical, role-based training that supports drivers, providers, brokers, and system stakeholders.
Shared Practices
Shared Practices provide structured opportunities for stakeholders to contribute insights, operational experience, and lessons learned that inform standards development and industry improvement.
NEMTAC® Advisory Committees are composed of industry stakeholders who contribute subject-matter expertise to standards development, accreditation criteria, and education initiatives. Committees operate under ANSI requirements to ensure balance, transparency, and independence.
Transform is NEMTAC®’s annual industry conference focused on education, collaboration, and standards-aligned innovation in non-emergency medical transportation.
In addition to open conferences and public engagement, NEMTAC® convenes periodic, invitation-only leadership forums to support strategic dialogue on emerging issues affecting the NEMT ecosystem.
