NEMTAC is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for fiduciary oversight, strategic direction, and protection of the organization’s public-interest mission as an ANSI-Accredited Standards Developer.
Board members are selected based on relevant experience and expertise across healthcare, transportation, nonprofit governance, law, and related fields that support the development of credible, neutral, and effective national standards for non-emergency medical transportation.
Directors serve defined terms to ensure continuity, independence, and orderly governance. The Board acts collectively in the best interests of the organization and does not represent individual stakeholder groups, commercial interests, or regulatory bodies.
The Board of Directors operates in accordance with NEMTAC’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and applicable nonprofit law.
NEMTAC’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws are available for public review to support transparency and good governance.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors provides fiduciary oversight, strategic direction, and organizational governance. Directors act collectively in the best interests of NEMTAC and do not represent specific stakeholder groups or commercial interests.
Board Subcommittees
Board subcommittees are committees of the Board that support specific governance responsibilities, such as finance, governance, and standards oversight. These subcommittees are composed of Board members and may be supported by NEMTAC staff as designated by the Board. Board subcommittees exercise oversight consistent with Board authority and documented governance processes.
Advisory Committees
Advisory committees provide subject-matter expertise and stakeholder input to inform standards development, accreditation programs, education, and system design. Advisory committees do not exercise governance authority, do not make final decisions, and do not act on behalf of NEMTAC or the Board.
